Sneha Sagar Society

The Sneha Sagar Society was started in 1999 in a urban area of West India, on the border of Mumbai, and registered under the name of Sneha Sagar Society on March 31st, 2001.The Organization was started by Sr. Martha Mandal (Founder). She always envisaged herself working for the betterment of the poor. First she put her hand to plough and started her activities by impacting free education to the children residing in the slums and coaching classes for women to become economically independent. This Society works among the poor and needy, educating the children and rehabilitation to socially handicapped children, completely orphaned, and destitute women. The women are also given non-formal education in the areas of child care family, health, hygiene and human rights and thus empowering women from marginalized sections of the society.

My Dear Friends,

Very good morning to one and all. As we all are aware of  the happenings at Monipur at North East of India and  the world is also witnessing it. Since  long I had been thinking whether there could be any way out to reach these needy brothers and sisters. Some how God has shown me a way. I could get some priests contact numbers from Mizoram and asked   the situation over there and how we can help them .

The priest told there is no possibility of going to Monipur as all the High ways are blocked.  It's totally like war zone and also spoken to armies  and the government personalitis, but they advised it's not at all safe to go to Monipur at present and therefore they will not allow. But the people who have come out of Monipur and taken shelter to different neibouring States and one is  Mizoram where the people can be helped as they are really looking out for help . Sad to know that the people are spending their day and night with hunger, no proper facilities at all. So I have contacted few priests at Mizoram. The priest send me the following msg which I put in the bracket below:-

(Kangpokpi: 4500 people in 12 camps.

Lamka/ Churachandpur : 21310 people in 104 camps.)

These are the people who are desperately need of help. Since it's very huge number the organisation and volunteers are finding very difficult especially to provide them with food and clothing.

I have asked father what  are the most requirements immediately?

And he said if we could anyway provide them with the following things.

1. Rice, atta, dal, sugar, snacks like Poha, rowa, Maggie, biscuits, cooking oil etc. No need masala as they don't eat.

2. Toiletries:- bathing soaps, washing soaps, sanitary pads , surf , tooth paste etc.

3. Clothes:- blankets, bedsheets, towels etc.

4. Old clothes with good condition :- sarees, trousers, shirt, children cloths.

5. Mats, buckets, mugs, plates, glasses etc.

Dear friends I am not so sure how much we will be able to collect but trusting in our Lord I think we can render our services in whatever ways we can.  I and my organisation Sneha Sagar society are ready to take initiative to collect , pack and reach the things to them . I am sure with your help we can do the needful. So I am hoping you will support for this great cause.

May be within two weeks atleast will try to send a truck of the above things, if we receive more then we shall send the second truck.

If any company level would like to donate more things do contact them. Do forward this message as many as friends and relatives and company you can. Things will be taken till Gohati and from there the father's will arrange to take the things to the different camps at Mizoram for the safety sake. May be few of  us can go but with much precautions. That we shall see.

Let us join our hands together to help these extremely needy brotheren and for this extremely noble cause for the humanity. I leave it totally in the hand of God ,He will surely show us the way.

Earliest the donated materials we get earliest we can organise it to send it because for them every moment is important.

May God bless you all and hoping for the best. Thanks.

Dear Friends, Well Wishers and Benefactors,

Greetings from Sr Martha Mondal.

I am glad to inform you that I am back from Manipur after the relief work for 10 days. We the sisters have visited many camps of Kukies as well as some  Meities. Heard their difficult situations of the past when the attack took place and at present how they are struggling in many ways in the camps.

First of all they have lost their houses and all their belongings and above all many have lost their near and dear ones. I shall share some snaps with you all , may not be everything. We have distributed some relief things to 3 camps and the rest will be distributed by the fathers & the social workers to the rest of the places where the camps are ,with special permission.

The people are very grateful to you all and special thanks and prayers are promised by them.

My  sincere thanks for all your support and kindness..

We pray that the situation may soon be settled as the people are indeed suffering.

May God bless you all.

With regards,
